Essex Countryside & Wildlife Course
In the out & about summer visits term adult students gained practical experience of identifying species in the countryside, and recognising aspects of historic buildings.
In the Autumn and Spring terms in the comfortable classroom setting of the Conference Room at Moulsham Mill the tutor gave illustrated talks, but also supplied plant samples, historic & other materials to enable students to develop a familiarity with identification skills.
Refreshments at mid-evening were available in the attached class kitchen. The class was socially friendly to allow students to support each other whilst developing their identification skills, so class members often talked of it as a club.
Annual Day Out
Course members relaxing during a refreshment break during the very popular Annual Day Out trip, where each year the course traveled to a more distant part of Essex to investigate its natural history & social history.
Lunch & tea breaks were an important part of this annual trip. Class members often brought their partner, a family member or friend for this special outing.
